The INHALE Patient Advisory Board assembled for its first virtual meeting on November 9th. At this meeting, the group discussed goals of the board, operating norms, meeting cadence, and each advisor’s “why” for joining the board. The group had a wide range of reasons for joining, such as, wanting to “serve underserved communities” and “learning more and advocating for air quality”. The board currently consists of a combination of 8 asthma and COPD patients who are very energized to help advise INHALE on how to make improvements to asthma and COPD care across Michigan. We are looking forward to the next meeting in January 2024! For more information about the board, reach out to Meghan Spiroff at mairgood@med.umich.edu.
