How to Advance Lung and Sleep Therapies to Patients with High Unmet Needs – NIH Workshop

This workshop will feature experts from lung and sleep research, pulmonary critical care, and sleep medicine who will discuss gaps and opportunities within the current technologies, tools, assays, model systems, and clinical endpoints across the spectrum of acute/chronic lung diseases and sleep disorders. This event aims to facilitate advancing therapeutic leads in Investigational New Drug (IND)-enabling studies for IND application submission to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Participants will have the opportunity to hear from clinical trialists who have successfully navigated the IND process and advocacy groups that support the unmet needs of lung and sleep patients.

Workshop Goals and Objectives:

  • Facilitate advancing lung and sleep therapeutic leads in IND-enabling studies.
  • Understand the patient journey and patient needs within the lung and sleep communities.
  • Bring together drug developers, patient advocacy groups, and regulatory affairs experts to discuss the important partnerships needed to produce novel therapies.
