About INHALE

INHALE is a Collaborative Quality Initiative (CQI), funded by BCBSM, dedicated to improving health outcomes and quality of care for adults with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and adults and children with asthma. The collaborative shares guideline-based approaches which, combined with our shared knowledge and expertise, are used to develop sophisticated resources for patients and providers. INHALE leverages claims-based data and national/international guidelines, along with input from participants to identify opportunities in patient care to drive quality improvement. By analyzing data from our participating physicians and practices, we identify best-practices and reduce practice variation to improve our collective performance and patient outcomes.

Mission

INHALE hopes to engage and empower Primary Care, Specialty Care and Physician Organizations across the state,

  • to improve patient outcomes and address inequalities with regard to care, and
  • to promote high-value health care for:
    • children and adults with asthma, and
    • adults with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
